My Story

From an early age, I have always had the drive to help others. At the age of 16, I was a volunteer telephone counsellor for the Salvation Army. Still to this day, this role has influenced my approach to life. My communication skills, intuition and compassion have been shaped by my life experiences and allowed me to quickly form authentic connections with my clients.

Following a successful career in marketing, media, and event management, I have now returned to my own intuitive wisdom – coaching, mentoring and using energy modalities to influence the mind/body connection.

I’m a mother of two spirited teenagers, so I know the joys of motherhood but also the rollercoaster ride of family life.

My Approach

Through my own life experiences and having worked with many teens and parents, I provide a practical approach to help you get the results you want. I’m here to work alongside you through critical and challenging times so that you can build resilience and gain control.

I strongly believe in balancing your overall wellbeing, which means delving into the social, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual elements of your life.  Many times when one area of your life is not working for you, then it starts to impact the rest of your life.  If you’re feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands or lost for direction, my services aim to introduce clarity and self-care to get you back on track. I share techniques to better manage the emotional stress and anxiety caused by everyday life. As a Family Life Coach, I work holistically with every family member, no matter the family dynamic.

I create a safe space for teenagers to share their concerns and worries. I’m dedicated to teaching teens and adults how to listen to their own intuitive wisdom and to be confident in expressing themselves so that they can set clear boundaries, practice self-care and embrace life whole-heartedly.

My Experience

Over the last 6 years I have been delivering wellbeing workshops in high schools and practicing as a Family Life Coach, specialising in teen and parent coaching.

On this journey, I have completed:

  • Registered member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF)
  • Transcend International Certificate in Professional Coaching
  • The Rites of Passage Leadership Training
  • Shine from Within Youth Mentor Program
  • Landmark Series
  • Vedic Meditation
  • MBSR Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
  • The Parent Effectiveness (P.E.T.)
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid Certificate

I strongly believe in the mind/body connection.  Natural therapies are also a deep passion of mine, so I have delved into energy-based body work which I integrate into my coaching practice where necessary.  I always ask my clients to keep an open mind, get curious and experiment with the mind/body connection.  I am a qualified practitioner in the following:

  • Reiki
  • Breathwork
  • Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT)

These energy-based therapies complement talk therapy by working with any physical and emotional blockages you may be storing in your body.

I can’t wait to help you on your journey.

Kind Words from My Clients

"Recently Tara supported me with generosity and kindness through a very difficult time. I am a single Mother of two adult daughters and the carer of my aging Mother who has Alzheimer's. I found the isolation of lockdown due to Covid heightened my anxiety and seriously impacted my sense of wellbeing. I was suffering from increasing negative thoughts that started to become debilitating. With care and clarity Tara helped me identify the narrative that was playing on repeat in my head by suggesting and creating, kinder, more positive and alternate ways of looking at my situation. Tara created a safe environment for me to be open and honest. With commitment and guidance Tara worked with me to re-set the story, encouraging a sense of positive affirmation."

Julie

"Our teenage daughter was having trouble with some friends and wanted to break away from the group she had inherited from primary school. It didn't require therapy, but our relationship was such that my advice didn't count at the moment. Individual coaching was exactly what she need to get in touch with her values and pro-actively create her identity so that she could have a clear goal of who she wanted to be. It also helped give her practical tools to set boundaries and the confidence to navigate the friendship issues which were causing her anxiety."

Mother of Client15 year old Daughter

"I credit Tara Bennett for repairing a breaking relationship with my 14 year old son. Tara’s immense skill in her ability to communicate in today’s world is insightful and genuine. She truly understands what makes teenagers tick. As a single Mum with an acrimonious and stressful drawn out divorce I needed assistance in navigating and juggling work, co-parenting and a new relationship. Tara has provided me with tools and techniques which has made my life so much easier. I wish I had seen her years ago."
