Life Coaching with Tara Bennett

“The primary cause of unhappiness is not the situation, but your thoughts about it.”  Eckhart Tole

There’s no denying that COVID has had a huge impact on our lives.

Many of us have experienced prolonged life stresses, loneliness, unemployment, and strains on our relationships – all taking a toll on our physical and mental health.

A life coach can help you navigate these challenges with support and guidance. It can also help bridge the gap between who you are and who you want to be.

So, what is life coaching?

Life coaching helps you reach your full potential so that you can live your best life.

Instead of delving too much into the past like traditional talk therapy, I help you to practice being present and focus on your future.

As a life coach, I’m here to listen and support you through your current challenges.

We will work together to clarify your challenge, gain new perspectives, improve your life and work through any changes.

Together, we get creative to help you:

  • Identify your goals
  • Explore self-discovery
  • Brainstorm practical strategies
  • Experiment with different tools
  • Foster growth and accountability

I specialise in Family Life Coaching, working closely with Teens, Young Adults, Parents, and the Family unit.

Teen Coaching
& Mentoring

My goal when working with a teen is to firstly offer a confidential, non judgemental space for them to download the ups and downs of teenage life. We then begin to normalise their experiences, which can deactivate big emotions and introduce the concept of positive and negative self-talk.

Coaching for
Adults

Whether it is starting out as a young adult, unsure of the future you want, or juggling the persistent demands of parenting and putting your own needs last, we can sometimes lose sight of who we are. Come back to your full power and step toward the life you want. Turn what may seem chaotic into calm.

Family
Coaching

Family coaching can provide the necessary neutral environment to allow each individual member to be seen and heard. Through coaching and mediation techniques, each person’s perspective is honoured and we work together to foster new possibilities and re-establish positive family relationships.

My Process

I whole heartedly understand that everyone’s journey is different. There is no “one-size that fits all”. I want to meet you where you are at in your life.

I provide virtual and face-to-face coaching services which are individualised and accessible globally. My role is to provide the support, guidance and assistance based on your story.

I first like to normalise any obstacles, which helps to create resilience and optimism and neutralise any overwhelm that might be showing up.  In my first session with you, I will do a brief uncovery of your current challenges and together we can brainstorm ideas.  This first session also allows you to get a sense of our rapport so that we can decide if the coaching partnership is the right fit.

Once this is established, I recommend a further six sessions (1 per week).  This allows us the time to unpack any current obstacles, establish goals, understand the reality and experiment with options to make the necessary changes.

Growth is often uncomfortable, messy and full of emotions, but it is all necessary. My approach is both intuitive and practical in nature. My passion is to support you during whatever the challenge may be, so that you feel stronger, wiser and more grounded in who you want to be in life.

Kind Words from My Clients

"Recently Tara supported me with generosity and kindness through a very difficult time. I am a single Mother of two adult daughters and the carer of my aging Mother who has Alzheimer's. I found the isolation of lockdown due to Covid heightened my anxiety and seriously impacted my sense of wellbeing. I was suffering from increasing negative thoughts that started to become debilitating. With care and clarity Tara helped me identify the narrative that was playing on repeat in my head by suggesting and creating, kinder, more positive and alternate ways of looking at my situation. Tara created a safe environment for me to be open and honest. With commitment and guidance Tara worked with me to re-set the story, encouraging a sense of positive affirmation."

Julie

"Our teenage daughter was having trouble with some friends and wanted to break away from the group she had inherited from primary school. It didn't require therapy, but our relationship was such that my advice didn't count at the moment. Individual coaching was exactly what she need to get in touch with her values and pro-actively create her identity so that she could have a clear goal of who she wanted to be. It also helped give her practical tools to set boundaries and the confidence to navigate the friendship issues which were causing her anxiety."

Mother of Client15 year old Daughter

"I credit Tara Bennett for repairing a breaking relationship with my 14 year old son. Tara’s immense skill in her ability to communicate in today’s world is insightful and genuine. She truly understands what makes teenagers tick. As a single Mum with an acrimonious and stressful drawn out divorce I needed assistance in navigating and juggling work, co-parenting and a new relationship. Tara has provided me with tools and techniques which has made my life so much easier. I wish I had seen her years ago."
